TourBuilder allows you to connect your scenes manually or connect them automatically with the Auto-Align Tool. To connect your scenes manually, be sure to turn off the Auto-Align Tool. In this lesson, we'll be explaining how you can connect your scenes manually.
Lesson 16 discusses how to toggle Auto-Align on and off.
Connecting Your Scenes
1. Begin by selecting your first scene and positioning it on the constellation map.
2. Select your connecting scene. It will overlay on top of the scene before it. Use the front view to adjust the scenes to match them to the best of your ability. You may have to adjust the back view, if necessary, but it is not always needed. Tip: scenes shot in a direct line rather than on a diagonal are often much easier to line up.
Use the transparency slider bar in the top left corner to match up your two scenes. The slider bar allows you to see through your second connecting scene so you can pinpoint objects that best match between the two scenes.
3. Once you're satisfied with the connection, click the orange button Add. If you're unhappy or need to start over, click the red button Cancel.
Once you click Add, you'll see the connection form the on the left side constellation map and a white chevron arrow appear on your scene.
If you do not see your connections on Google immediately...
It is very important to remember that it may take time for connections to show up on Google Maps. You may publish and may not see connections (arrows) on your scenes immediately. This is normal.
TourBuilder recommends allowing 24-48 hours before seeing complete results on Google. Google has many servers in regions across the world, and it does take some time for all connections to persist across all of them.
If you don't see all of your connections within a few hours, you may try clicking Publish again to update your tour and send your connections to Google a second time. Google will only accept updates to 15 scenes at a time, so it may require multiple Publishes if you attempt this.
Even after clicking the Publish again, it still may take a few hours for your connections to properly show up. Your connections may even be facing the wrong direction for a little time as it also takes time for Google's system to persist the center headings/Norths that are set for your scenes. Unfortunately, we do not have control over this as this involves caches on Google's servers.
Please only click the blue Publish button and not the red Unpublish button as this would remove your uploaded scenes from Google and delay the publishing process.
