Now that we've gone over the basics of the TourBuilder Dashboard and the layout of the platform, it's time to create your first client. As we discussed in Lesson 4, each virtual tour must be assigned a client so before we begin building a tour for Google Maps/Street View, you will want to make sure you have a client to assign the tour.
Why does TourBuilder require clients?
TourBuilder is designed to help you grow and organize your client base. Rather than a disorganized list of tours in your account, clients help you keep your virtual tours orderly and easy to find. A client may have 10 business locations that need virtual tours or they may have only one. A client is a business that you've sold a certain number of virtual tours.
To begin, click on the My Clients icon on the left navigation bar. You'll see an empty page without any clients. To add your first client, click the purple button "Add."
This will bring up the Create New Client Wizard.
Choose a client name. At this time, client names cannot be edited once they are created, so please choose wisely before adding. You may always delete the client later if desired.
Max # of Street View Tours.
What does this mean? The Max # of Street View Tours is how many Google tours you have sold to your current client. For example, let's say your client has two properties that they want shot for their Google listings. You would choose 2.
10 is the default, however, this number can always be edited.
Max # Custom Tours
Once the TourBuilder Custom Builder has been released to the community, this option will also be necessary if you have sold custom tours to your client.
Once you're happy with these settings, click the blue "Add" button. You're now ready to begin building your first virtual tour, but before we build, be sure to review Lesson 7 to make sure you have everything you need to build and publish.
Deleting a Client
If ever you wish to delete a client, you will need to first empty and unpublish all virtual tours associated with that client. TourBuilder will not allow you to delete a client if there are virtual tours currently associated with it in your account. The reason for this is to prevent users from accidentally deleting a client and losing all of their hard work.
